Haden will, Tebow may attend 2010 NFL Draft

Former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow and cornerback Joe Haden have been invited to attend the 2010 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY, on April 22, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

While Haden has accepted the league’s invitation, which was extended to 18 players – double the normal nine – due to the draft being lengthened from two to three days, Tebow has yet to make a decision one way or another. Mortensen reports that Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford, Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen and Texas QB Colt McCoy were also invited.

Though these offers are usually only extended to first-round draft picks, Mortsen says “Tebow’s workout on Wednesday boded well for the Gators quarterback, especially with those teams that were considering him as a high draft prospect.”

Haden, on the other hand, is projected to be selected in the early part of the first round – as high as No. 7 overall by the Cleveland Browns.

Because the first and second/third round of the draft will air on ESPN on Thursday and Friday night, respectively, Tebow’s presence would certainly boost the already strong ratings on the program’s second night should he not be selected in the first.

If i was Tebow, i would avoid going to the draft. He could be drafted anywhere from the first round to the 3rd round IMO…. I hate to see Tebow sitting in the room waiting to be picked and constantly being the talk of the TV announcers of about his arm.. where he might fall too, etc……. remember ( eg. aaron rodgers a few years ago)

    Nothing to gain…
Stay at home with the family and enjoy the day…..

    • I agree and disagree with you. If I am Tebow, I also stay away from RCMH. I get a private room with my family, Coach Meyer and anyone else close to me.

However, I do not make that decision because I am scared about sitting there and “falling.” Unlike Quinn or Rodgers, Tebow is not projected to go in the top 10 – or anywhere near it for that matter.

Tim needs to stay as far away from this invitation as possible. They have only invited him to gain viewership and will put the damn camera on him every time a QB goes ahead of him…..no diggs

I completely agree w/the others: I wish Tim would reconsider this & go workout at D1 instead of going to the draft.

Sorry-I didn’t see the update until after I posted. I hope Tim decides not to go, or at least not on the 1st day.

If his agent doesn’t stop him from doing this he should be fired on the spot. He already took enough flack for the whole $160/autograph thing and now possibly this……..someone needs to find their damn brain

maybe they know something that we don’t know…..like a team that will be picking him up quick…..or else maybe it’s just for ratings, which sucks for Tim.
