It didn’t take long for Florida Gators fans to breathe at least a mini sigh of relief on Wednesday as four-star defensive back Marcus Roberson announced that he has committed to the school and sent in his National Letter of Intent.
A former commitment to Texas Tech, Roberson decided to change his pledge to Auburn on Monday before completely pulling out of that commitment on Tuesday. Florida, which had been in the mix for a beginning, ends up the recipient of his services.
Roberson is the Gators 18th commitment for the 2011 cycle and the team’s fourth defensive back. He is listed as the No. 2 cornerback (No. 37 overall player) available by Rivals and No. 9 safety (No. 112 overall player) in the nation by ESPNU.
His commitment was first reported by 247Sports.
OGGOA will update this story as the day goes on.

Wow , this is a great sign. Welcome marcus. Great start. I expect alot of great surprises today.
What a roller coaster for this guy! Three schools in a few days… Welcome to Gator Nation. Next stop, day one of the NFL draft in three years.
Fantastic! Welcome Roberson!
If he plays like Cody Riggs played last year he will be in for a lot of playing time early.
Now that’s a snatch and grab job for Muschamp and our staff!!! Add Grant and Rasco, and we end up with an amazing signing class.
I love the kids we got I only wished we could have landed a few more but great quality!
Good deal, crazy last week but the secondary is filling out pretty well, glad we have the letter in hand.
At 6’0 and 170, he is gonna have to do some beefing up fast!
I know that it is a stretch but any word on either Grant or Jenkins?
We have a live chat going on…latest info in there.
Looks like Rasco is our last hope….
We didn’t get Grant….OSU
grant went to ohio state
About what I expected when all was said and done, which isn’t a good thing. Oh well, always next year. Least I won’t be eating any crow tonight. 🙁
