A total of five former Florida Gators have agreed to participate in postseason collegiate all-star games, including the ever-popular Senior Bowl.

Linebacker Antonio Morrison (No. 53), Florida’s leading tackler in 2015, and tight end Jake McGee (No. 83) will both play on the South Team in the Senior Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 30 (2:30 p.m. ET, NFL Network).

Florida Gators offense bothered by (but understanding of) disrespect entering Citrus Bowl

There was little offense coming from the Florida Gators‘ side of the field over their final few games of the season, due in large part to the play of sophomore quarterback Treon Harris, an injured offensive line and a lot of youth and inexperience on that side of the ball.

Redshirt senior offensive lineman Trip Thurman, set to play in his final game in the 2016 Citrus Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines on Friday, is accepting of the criticism that Florida’s offense has received but equally disturbed by the lack of respect being paid to the Gators ahead of this contest.

Friday Final: Gators control their own destiny, which is normal for Florida-Georgia game

We’re back with Florida Football Friday Final, where OnlyGators.com takes a last look at the No. 11 Florida Gators as they prepare for their rivalry showdown against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) and Georgia (5-2, 3-2 SEC) will do battle in a game that could very well decide the SEC East, with the Gators all but clinching the title with a victory and the Bulldogs pulling in front of the race with a tiebreaker if they pull off a win. The contest will air live nationally on CBS and kick from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

Florida Gators practice update: Eliminating distractions, creating chaos, trusting Treon Harris

Amid the numerous distractions, No. 8 Florida Gators football must still prepare for its toughest test of the season, a road game against the No. 6 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Head coach Jim McElwain and a handful of players met with the media this week to discuss the Gators moving on with a new signal caller. Florida will also get a few players back that, while not mitigating the loss of redshirt freshmen quarterback Will Grier and cornerback Deiondre Porter, should help fill some holes.

Snell’s Slant: Trap game alert for Gators as Florida looks to build on success at Mizzou

By Shannon Snell – OnlyGators.com Featured Columnist

Forget that “Big Boss” nickname I’ve carried for so long. Pardon me, Floyd Mayweather Jr., but you all can just call me “Money” now. Take a look at how I ended last week’s column, as Adam so generously reposted on Sunday:

“Now, here comes No. 3 Ole Miss. Almost no one gives Florida a chance to win this game, which makes the Gators even more dangerous. Florida has nothing to lose and everything to gain. UF is supposed to be two or three years away from making a serious run at the College Football Playoff … but what if the Gators beat the Rebels? What if Florida comes in and plays their best games of the season while Ole Miss takes them lightly? Auburn has made this type of turnaround before. It is not impossible. Head coach Jim McElwain will have the Gators ready to play Saturday night; the Rebels better be ready for a dogfight.”

Look, I’m no football genius, but I can say that I’ve been in similar situations in my life when it pertains to football. Ole Miss started reading its own newspaper clippings and thought it was a lot better than it was in reality. No doubt about it, the Rebels are a talented football team. A mere two weeks ago, they knocked off one of the best teams in the country in the Alabama Crimson Tide. But this is SEC football at its best. If you do not come ready to play every single week, you can get beat very convincingly by an opponent you underestimate, such as Ole Miss did Florida. The Rebels clearly did not match the same intensity that the Gators started with from the first snap.

Florida Gators have figured out the action and reaction … now what about ‘number three?’

No. 11 Florida Gators head coach Jim McElwain met with the media on Monday to go over his team’s dominant 38-10 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels as well as Florida’s upcoming game against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

(Portions of his post-game press conference from Saturday are also included.)

McElwain discussed the Gators’ surge in success, redshirt freshman quarterback Will Grier and how Florida must be careful not to suffer a letdown on Saturday at Missouri.

Snell’s Slant: Offensive line, secondary are concerns but Gators better than they looked

By Shannon Snell – OnlyGators.com Featured Columnist

I’ve always loved the lyric, “Mama said there’ll be days like this.”

Saturday’s game against East Carolina, well, that was one of those days. ECU stayed competitive the entire game and even had the chance to tie things up with a few minutes left. The box score did not really indicate how many facets of the game Florida needs to improve in before it hits SEC play this weekend.

As with most things in life, there’s good and bad. One of the most significant problems for the Gators right now is their offensive line. Look, I ain’t gonna sit here a bash these guys. I think there are a few guys, as I mentioned last week, who can be very, very good. But I think for all of them, with the exception of Trip Thurman, the lack of experience is really an issue.
