Gators down to No. 11/13 in polls + new S-curve

The final regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with Gonzaga becoming the new No. 1 team in the nation after receiving 83-of-96 combined first-place votes.

The Florida Gators, which beat Vanderbilt at home before collapsing on the road at Kentucky, fell two spots each to No. 11 in the USA Today poll and No. 13 in the AP rankings. Florida lost 50 voting points in the USA Today poll and was deducted 155 points in the AP top 25.

The Gators are the only Southeastern Conference team listed in the top 25 rankings.

The 18th regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with Gonzaga becoming the new No. 1 team in the nation after receiving 80-of-96 combined first-place votes.

The Florida Gators, which lost on the road at Tennessee before beating Alabama at home, fell three spots each to No. 9 in the USA Today poll and No. 11 in the AP rankings. Florida lost 74 voting points in the USA Today poll and was deducted 171 points in the AP top 25.

The Gators are the only Southeastern Conference team listed in the top 25 rankings.

The 17th regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Indiana Hoosiers remaining ranked as the No. 1 team after receiving 92-of-96 combined first-place votes.

The Florida Gators, which split its games last week, fell two spots to No. 6 in the USA Today poll and dropped three slots to No. 8 in the AP rankings. Florida lost 89 voting points (and two first-place votes) in the USA Today poll and was deducted 223 points in the AP top 25.

The Gators are the only Southeastern Conference team listed in the top 25 rankings.

The 16th regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Indiana Hoosiers back as the No. 1 team in both rankings after receiving 62-of-96 combined first-place votes.

The Florida Gators, with two more league victories last week, moved up two spots each to No. 4 in the USA Today poll and No. 5 in the AP rankings. Florida gained 57 voting points (and two first-place votes) in the USA Today poll and added 101 points in the AP top 25.

The Gators are the only Southeastern Conference team listed in the top 25 rankings.

The 15th regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with Duke (38 total first-place votes) and Indiana (32) holding down the No. 1 ranking in the respective polls.

The Florida Gators, after suffering an upset at the hands of Arkansas on Tuesday, fell four spots to No. 6 in the USA Today rankings and five spots to No. 7 in the AP poll. Florida lost 114 voting points in the USA Today rankings and was deducted 250 points in the AP poll.

The Gators are the only Southeastern Conference team listed in the former rankings and one of two (Kentucky) in the latter poll.

Florida basketball ranked No. 2 in top 25 polls

The 14th regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Indiana Hoosiers (20-2, 8-1 Big Ten) taking over as the new No. 1 and receiving 83 of 96 first-place votes.

The Florida Gators, coming off another pair of dominant league victories, jumped up two spots to No. 2 in both polls. Florida gained 57 voting points in the USA Today rankings and added 116 points in the AP poll. The Gators are one of three Southeastern Conference teams listed in the rankings.

Florida, which received six first-place votes in the USA Today rankings and seven first-place votes in the AP poll, registered its highest regular season rankings in the respective polls since last being No. 1 in the country on Feb. 12, 2007.

Florida basketball jumps up to No. 4 in top 25 polls

The 13th regular season editions of the 2012-13 ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Kansas Jayhawks (18-1) and Michigan Wolverines (19-1) taking over as the new No. 1 teams in the country based on the respective polls.

The Florida Gators, coming off a pair of dominant league victories, jumped up and evened out at No. 4 in both polls. Florida moved up three spots and gained 97 voting points in the ESPN/USA Today rankings while moving up four places and adding 239 points in the AP poll. The Gators are one of three Southeastern Conference teams listed in the rankings this week.

Florida, which received one first-place vote in each poll, registered its highest regular season ranking in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll since Feb. 26, 2007 and in the AP Top 25 since Feb. 19, 2007.

The 12th regular season editions of the 2012-13 ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Duke Blue Devils (16-1) taking over as the new No. 1 team in the nation and receiving 59 of 96 combined first-place votes from the coaches and pollsters.
