Florida Gators football sneaks into final top 25 polls of 2015 season

The Florida Gators (10-4) were embarrassed in three straight games to end the 2015 campaign, getting outscored a combined 97-24 in losses to Florida State (27-2), Alabama (29-15) and Michigan (41-7).

Still, the Gators somehow snuck into the very bottom of the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll when the final rankings were released early Tuesday morning following the Crimson Tide’s victory in the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Florida continued its free fall, dropping six spots to No. 25 in the AP Top 25 and seven spots to No. 25 in the Coaches Poll. UF can hold its head high, however, as it remained ranked in the polls for the vast majority of the season after failing to sniff the poll in 2014.

Overall, the Gators were one of five SEC teams in the final AP Top 25, joining Alabama (1), Ole Miss (10), LSU (16) and Tennessee (22), all of which were 2015 opponents for UF. Michigan and Florida State, two other Florida opponents, checked in at No. 12 and No. 14, respectively.
