So fast, in fact, that the 10.11-second 100-meter dash he ran at the 66th Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday afternoon at Percy Beard Track is the fastest run in the world so far in 2010 (and it is not even the best time he has run in his life – 10.01 in high school. Demps won the 60-meter dash national title at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships and is hoping to add more titles to his resume in the outdoor season.

2 » ESPN sideline reporter and former Florida dazzler Erin Andrews, who is currently a contestant on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, has been the subject of death threats since the end of March, according to CNN. Andrews’ attorney, Marshall B. Grossman, says that radio talk show host Dan Patrick has been sent several threatening e-mails about Andrews beginning in September. The e-mails “were of a sexual nature but then turned violent” recently, according to Grossman. The FBI is already on the case and has identified the sender of the e-mails, per the Los Angeles Times.

1 » Between critics, supporters and analysts, former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow always has plenty of people talking about him. You can add former USC Trojans safety Taylor Mays to that list. Mays – who has grown close with Tebow after appearances at college football awards shows, 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl and 2010 NFL Scouting Combine – got defensive when asked about his new friend’s ability to transition to the NFL. “I don’t understand it. He did everything right,” Mays said. “It’s not like everybody thought he was going to be the first quarterback taken, so I don’t understand why they’re killing him like that. You’re looking at one of the most established players in college football, ever. Ever! All these people they’re talking about don’t have half the credentials he does.”

2 » While Mays was defensive, New England sports writer Tom Curran went on the offensive against Tebow Wednesday. Curran opines that Tebow’s very public meeting with New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is out of character for the team and was perhaps done in order to boost Tebow’s 2010 NFL Draft stock and, in some way, help out his friend and Gators head coach Urban Meyer. Side note: Tebow spent two days in Boston; he was not just there for a dinner. Curran also questions what Tebow is as a person. “I mean, how do we know the kid’s a virgin? He talks about it. And just as it’s his right to talk about it, it’s the right of observers to wonder what the motivations for doing so are,” Curran wrote. “Is he a football player? A spokesman? A vessel of the Lord? A well-crafted public relations creation? All of the above?”

Former Florida Gators dazzler and ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews was facing elimination on Tuesday night’s edition of ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars. After learning she had been spared, Andrews dropped a solid Gator Chomp in celebration.

Former Florida Gators dazzler and ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews made her debut on ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars on Monday night. Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy scored a 21, which OGGOA is told is solid first-round score.

An Illinois insurance executive found guilty of secretly filming former Florida Gators dazzler turned ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews nude in her hotel room on numerous occasions was sentenced to a 27-month prison term Monday. Though Barrett cried in court and attempted to provide a sincere apology, Andrews rebuffed him with vigor.

“You violated me and you violated all women,” Andrews said. “You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant and they should lock you up.” She went on to say that a sentence of “thirty months isn’t enough” because “It’s my body on the Internet. I’m being traumatized every single day for what he did […] This will never be over for me.”

After his release, Barrett, 48, will be subject to supervised probation for three years and will not be allowed to stay in a hotel without prior approval by a probation officer. He is also prohibited from contacting Andrews or anyone close to her for that period of time and, should he accept employment anywhere, the government will notify Andrews.
“There are no words to tell Ms. Andrews how sorry I am for what I’ve done to her,” Barrett said in court. “I hope someday she can forgive me.”

Though the case is now closed in California, other states may prosecute Barrett for the up to 32 different videos he loaded of potentially 16 other women.

Former Florida Gators dazzler and current ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews has signed on to be a contestant on the 10th season of ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars.

Andrews will join Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, model/actress Pamela Anderson, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, actress Shannen Doherty, singer Nicole Scherzinger, Olympic gold-medal ice skater Evan Lysacek, actress Niecy Nash, actor Aiden Turner, reality show star Kate Gosselin and former Bachelor Jake Pavelka on the latest edition of the hit ABC dancing competition. The show will premiere on March 22, 2010 at 8 p.m. (EST).

1 » In South Florida, it remains “all about The U,” but some including former Miami Hurricanes defensive back Bernie Blades are worried that the Florida Gators are taking all of the state’s elite talent. “If we allow these kids to leave South Florida and go to the Gators, we will keep starting below the curve,” Blades told The Miami Herald. “I love Randy Shannon. But if we cannot start keeping these kids at home, then we have to focus on finding someone who will.”

2 » Former Florida dazzler turned ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews continues to fight as she faces her stalker in a California courtroom. In a sentencing memo that was filed Monday with the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, CA, Michael David Barrett appears to have uploaded videos of 16 women aside from Andrews into the same online account. According to the document, Barrett allegedly conducted 30 background checks on various women and uploaded 32 videos in all. Barrett accepted a plea bargain and pleaded guilty to interstate stalking and agreed to spend 27 months in prison. Andrews and her attorneys have not approved that sentence, are demanding $335,000 in restitution and are scheduled to make their case heard in court on March 15.

An Illinois insurance executive accused of secretly filming former Florida Gators dazzler turned ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews nude in her hotel room on numerous occasions pled guilty to charges of interstate stalking in U.S. District Court on Tuesday.

Andrews, who faced Michael David Barrett, 48, for the first time on Tuesday, repeatedly called him a sexual predator who she hopes “never sees the light of day.” As expected, she urged the judge to give Barrett a harsh sentence and deny him bail. “His actions have had a devastating impact on me and my family,” Andrews said, adding that she still experiences taunts and chatter from sports fans in stadiums and arenas across the country while just trying to do her job.

Andrews also told the court that Barrett’s actions have had other affects on her daily life. She admitted that she is now “a little paranoid” when checking into hotels and even has nightmares about Barrett. “I live in hotels because of my job, and every time I check in, I look around, constantly thinking he is there,” she said.
