Florida basketball evens out at No. 5 in polls

The fifth regular season editions of the 2012-13 ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday, and the Indiana Hoosiers (9-0) held on to the No. 1 ranking, receiving 69 of 95 votes as the top team in the country.

The Florida Gators remained at No. 5 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll and moved up one spot in the AP Top 25 to No. 5. Florida gained 15 voting points in the ESPN/USA Today rankings but lost five voting points in the AP poll. The Gators are one of just three Southeastern Conference teams listed in the rankings this week.

These are Florida’s highest rankings since the conclusion of the 2006-07 season.
