Florida basketball up to No. 7/8 in top 25 polls
The second regular season editions of the 2012-13 USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday, and the Indiana Hoosiers (1-0) held on to the No. 1 spot in both rankings, receiving 72 of 96 votes as the top team in the country.
The Florida Gators moved up two spots to No. 8 in the USA Today poll and three spots to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 after two victories including one over a top-25 opponent. Florida gained 76 voting points in the USA Today rankings and added 196 voting points in the AP poll. The Gators are one of just three Southeastern Conference teams listed in the rankings this week.
