Florida Gators basketball’s 2019-20 schedule began to take shape on Thursday when it was announced they will be one of eight teams competing in the 2019 Charleston Classic. The event, held in Charleston, South Carolina, will be played from Nov. 21-24.
Joining Florida as part of the field are Miami, Missouri State, Penn State, St. Joseph’s, Towson, UConn and Xavier.
The Gators are 46-24 all-time against the Hurricanes, a two-time champion of the Charleston Classic (2009, 2014), including 5-3 in the last eight meetings with their last in Nov. 2016.
UF is 1-3 all-time against UConn with three straight losses to the Huskies. The teams last met in 2015, and the Gators have not defeated them since 1994.
Florida is also 1-2 all-time against Xavier with the teams playing consecutive seasons in 2009-10 and 2010-11; prior to that, the teams had not played since 1959.
