The Florida Gators (9-1, 7-1 SEC) continued their ascension in the weekly top 25 rankings, checking in at No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll coming off a decisive 24-14 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Last week, the Gators were listed at No. 11 in the AP rankings and No. 10 in the USA Today poll. Florida now has 1,055 votes (+168) in the Week 11 AP rankings and 1132 votes (+183) in the USA Today poll.

Much of the polls went as expected with Baylor, Stanford, Utah and LSU all falling after their losses. Florida – along with Oklahoma, Michigan State and North Carolina – were able to benefit by moving up significantly in the rankings. The Gators are now the fourth-ranked one-loss team behind Alabama (3), Notre Dame (5) and Oklahoma (7).

Rankings should be the least of our concerns…sustaining some offense and winning out should be all we are focused on.
