Three weeks after returning to the AP Top 25, the Florida Gators have entered the top 10 of the college football rankings coming off a bye week. The Gators have won four straight games, including three over SEC opponents and two on the road. Pollsters are clearly recognizing their vastly improved play after a Week 2 loss to Kentucky that looks way better now than it did at the time considering the Wildcats are now No. 12 in the nation.

Florida checked in at No. 9 in the new edition of the AP Top 25, moving up two spots to enter the top 10 for the first time since 2015. Though UF is five back of an LSU team it beat, it properly sits ahead of an Ohio State team that fell to unranked three-loss Purdue by 29 on Saturday night. That makes the Florida-Georgia game an official top-10 matchup this coming weekend. The Gators moved up one spot in the Coaches Poll, advancing to No. 11 this week. The coaches (read: sports information directors) kept OSU ahead of UF in this circumstance.

Let’s take a look at the latest college football rankings after Week 8.
