The Florida Gators (6-0, 4-0 SEC) continued their rise in the weekly top 25 rankings, checking in at No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll after taking down the Missouri 21-3 on Saturday night.

It is Florida’s first appearance in the top 10 of the AP rankings since the 2013 preseason poll.

Last week, the Gators were listed at No. 21 in the AP rankings and No. 13 in the USA Today poll. Florida now has 935 votes (+ 935) in the Week 6 AP rankings and 755 votes (+ 755) in the USA Today poll.

moving up and restoring the order! GO GATORS!

  2. Dave Massey says:

Seems to be quite a disparity in the two polls.

    Bring on the 7 train!

  3. Ken (CA) says:

Interstingly (and take this with a grain of salt as with everything else), Jley Gallaway on college football final last night listed UF as the first team out of the playoff at this point and declared the winner of UF/LSU almost a lock (of course still lots of games to be played, so like I say, don’t be serious), but it shows that Coach Mac is definitely getting the swagger and respect back that we had lost over the last few seasons. And he is doing it with a depleted team that is refilling holes.

It really shows how poorly Champ coached (As if the Auburn defensive showing isn’t proving that as well)

Wow!! If you would have told me before the season started the LSU game would be a match up between two top ten, undefeated teams I would have wondered what kind of dope you were smoking. This team has already met my expectations by becoming bowl eligible so everything else from this point is gravy. Having said that, if we can somehow find a way to win this game this could turn out to be a really special season that no one saw coming.

Should be real interesting Saturday. Our great defense is can keep us in any game but I’m not sure anyone can completely shut down Leonard Fournette. The offense is going to have to show up ready to play this week and the coaches need to work with Wil Grier on the art of the slide. I like his toughness and attitude but he’s too small to be out there stiff arming and hurdling tacklers. If he runs like a running back, he’s going to get tackled like one and it’s going to be just a matter of time before he gets hurt bad.
