With a roster spot still available and no more scholarship players joining the program ahead of the 2015-16 season, Florida Gators head basketball coach Mike White has added redshirt freshman guard Jhonny Victor to the team.

Victor (6-foot-4, 178 pounds) is on scholarship as a high jumper and triple jumper with Florida’s track & field program. Out of Orlando, he will remain with Gators basketball for its entire season and return to the track for outdoor competition in March or April.

The only current two-sport star at Florida, Victor joins a long line of athletes that have played multiple sports, including Jeff Demps (football, track), Gavin Dickey (football, baseball), Cornelius Ingram (football, basketball) and Taylore Burke (soccer, track), among many others.

Florida has three other walk-ons as members of its 2015-16 roster, including redshirt senior G Lexx Edwards, junior center Schuyler Rimmer (transfer from Stanford) and sophomore G Zach Hodskins.

Victor could be the eighth member of the team to potentially see his first-ever action with the Gators in 2015-16.
