The University of Florida‘s annual UF Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremonies are usually star-studded, but the Class of 2017 joining the club on Friday night is other-worldly.
Three members of the infamous Oh Fours that led Florida basketball to back-to-back national championships in 2006-07 — center Joakim Noah and forwards Al Horford and Corey Brewer — are the headliners along with legendary wide receiver Jacquez Green and first baseman Matt LaPorta, a two-time SEC Baseball Player of the Year.
Joining those five as Gator Greats are three All-Americans in Ben Hogan Award-winning golfer Matt Every, former SEC Female Tennis Player of the Year Alexis Gordon and four-time SEC champion volleyball player Benavia Jenkins. Also being honored as an Honorary Letterwinner is former golf coach Buddy Alexander, a three-time national coach of the year who led Florida to two national championships in the sport.
