The Florida Gators have already gotten their money’s worth since bringing Steve Spurrier back into the fold as an ambassador and consultant with the program.

Spurrier has been out and about promoting the Gators, raising money for the University Athletic Association and even self-producing viral videos by deciding to do Usain Bolt’s celebration after speaking to the crowd inside the newly-named Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

Day to day, though, Spurrier will not be in front of fans and donors. He will mostly be in his office doing work and walking around the football facility. As he’s not a coach with the team, his office is not next to that of head coach Jim McElwain; in fact, it’s in the sports information and communications wing.

It’s also not adorned with all the accouterments one would expect. Spurrier’s new office used to be a historical library.

But it does have one key feature that not even McElwain’s includes — the ultimate nameplate.

Spurrier having an office there just warms my heart. It also speaks volumes about McElwain’s character IMHO.

  2. South Bleachers says:

If you look closely at the binders on the shelves behind him, they are all labeled “plays to run up the score on UGA.”

For Christ’s sake, will someone please tell me what HBC means.
Everyone’s commenting on this but no one actually says what it is.
