The 2010 Big 12 champion Oklahoma Sooners held on to their preseason No. 1 spot in both the USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 polls Tuesday. The Florida Gators, after defeating the Florida Atlantic Owls 41-3 at home on Saturday, rose slightly in both mostly due to teams ahead of them losing their games.

I still think it’s difficult to rank us higher than the teens at this point as we just have too many questions on offense….this defense is starting to look like it could be pretty good but we will know soon enough…the team that just has not justified the ranking is FSU…..their QB looked bad against a horrible opponent but they have OK coming up so we will know soon enough if they belong but I just don’t see what they have done to justify a top 5 ranking

Top 5? Who said a top 5? We are right where we should be at this time. A talented, but unproven, team. We are all optimistic, and we already feel better than last season because this debut was better. That said, in past years, a 41-3 win against the likes of FAU wouldnt have meant much. I’ll start to really judge this team over the next few weeks. Let’s see improvement every week. If we take a few steps forward every week, we can be really good.

  2. Aligator says:

FSU is ranked way too high, but that will play out as the season goes on. I think when they play OU they will get drubbed.

  3. Luke says:

The best thing that could happen is that FSU spanks OU. I know I’m supposed to hate FSU, but I hate OU and we play FSU, so hopefully every team we play is either undefeated or has as few losses as possible. Go Gators!

    • Mr2Bits says:

Think you’re in a boat all by yourself on this one. I hope OU crushes FSU and then poops on their lifeless bodies. If not , you will hear how FSU deserves to play in the NC.

Adam…still no news leaking out about Floyd yet?

    • Daniel M. says:

Since 9:00a.m., I have been sitting, eyes wide, 3.65 inches away from my monitor. I have OGGOA up on the screen and I am refreshing every 4.7 seconds until we hear something on Floyd. I will not leave my station until I get a Floyd update.

      • Probably not a good idea. If you follow on Twitter/Facebook, it’ll just pop up when we have a new post.

      • David says:

I am with you. I have been refreshing Rivals, OGGOA, and google news like every 5 minutes all frickin day. This is soo important. William Green is like Trattou and/or Lemmons; starters by default. We need real ballers. Other than Powell, Urbs recruitment of DEs had slipped in the past few years. DT had issues with players leaving or getting kicked off the team.

    • David says:

According to the Gainesville Sun, this has to do with that frickin bake sale. Sooo stupid. The guy is poor!

  5. Dustin says:

Just a little constructive criticism: I’d like it and I imagine a lot of other people would if you put the rank next to the team name or did it in a list format. It’s annoying having to count teams to figure out what rank a team is. Just my opinion. Everything else is great 🙂

I’m already hearing that mr2bits…apparently Louisiana Monroe was a formidable opponent and consequently FSU deserves a shot in the title game already. Louisiana Monroe won the Sun-belt last year!!! Even more indicative of this psychotic line of thought, the consensus here in Tallahassee is the ACC is as competitive as the SEC. The SEC is a product of media they say. It’s really funny the responses I get when I ask them to name another school in the conference aside from fsu that has even played in Nat champ game much less win it in the last 20 years. Any response must exclude UM and VaTech who were members of Big East @ the time they contended. Funny!
