The Florida Gators may have lost a planned offensive line transfer from Clemson, but it worked quickly to replace him with another from Texas as offensive tackle Jean Delance announced Monday that he will continue his football career at Florida.

A highly coveted four-star prospect in the Class of 2016, Delance originally committed to UT over other major programs including Alabama, Michigan and Oklahoma. He played two games last season for the Longhorns but announced on Aug. 15 before fall classes began that he could play elsewhere beginning in 2017.

As an undergraduate transfer, Delance will sit out the 2017 season per NCAA rules. He will be eligible to play for the Gators as a redshirt sophomore in 2018.

“Blessed & proud to announce I’ll be continuing my education and football career at The University of Florida!!! #ChompChomp,” he tweeted.
