Three-star 2016 defensive back Jeawon Taylor (Montgomery, AL) became the second player of his rating and position to make a verbal commitment to the Florida Gators in as many days.

Taylor, is the 20th member of the Gators’ Class of 2016 and chose Florida over offers from Auburn, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri and Ole Miss, among others.

“Blessed to say I am officially committed to the University of Florida #DBU #BDN” Taylor announced on his Twitter account.

Just as he did in the commitment of Jayvaughn Myers (Dade City, FL) on Tuesday, Gators defensive backs coach Kirk Callahan played a significant role in Taylor’s recruitment and celebrated his addition on Twitter.

Taylor (6-foot-2, 192 pounds) is rated as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports system, though he is a three-star prospect in the company’s composite rankings, which OnlyGators.com uses as a standard when listing the ratings of recruits.

The sixth defensive back to make a verbal pledge to the Florida, Taylor is just the seventh of 20 prospects to join the team from outside the state of Florida. Seventeen of UF’s 20 commitments (85 percent) are rated as three-star prospects in the 247Sports Composite.
