The verbal commitments are going to have to slow down for the Florida Gators at some point, though that was not the case Friday night as 2019 athlete Ja’markis Weston (Clewiston, FL) pledged to join the program.
“I am proud to say, I am committed to the University of Florida !! #AllBite19,” Weston wrote in a tweet that was shared by Florida head coach Jim McElwain.
Weston (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) becomes the 12th member of the Gators’ top-ranked 2019 class, and he’s the fourth member of that group yet to be evaluated by recruiting services. His offer sheet is short at this time, though Florida and Tennessee were both early contenders for the recruit.
The second athlete in the class, joining four-star Tyrique Stevenson (Homestead, FL), Weston was recruited to the Gators as a wide receiver. Running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider was Weston’s primary recruiter and offered the prospect back in May.
