1 » Massachusetts State Police announced Friday that it has been determined that the Mercedes Maybach sedan owned by former Florida Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes was not only driven by Spikes the night it got into an accident but hit another car rather than a deer as he told the OnStar operator that responded to the crash. As such, Spikes will be charged with four courts by the state: leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger, speeding and failure to stay within marked lanes. The New England Patriots, which had signed Spikes to a one-year deal in the offseason, cut him the same day the initial report of his car being involved in an accident was released.

2 » In an item overlooked from last week, the Oakland Raiders decided to release former Gators wide receiver Andre Debose, a seventh-round draft choice by the organization. Debose was technically waived/injured by the Raiders after injuring his Achilles during organized team activities. he went unclaimed on waivers and is now a NFL free agent.

3 » Former Florida wide receiver Louis Murphy and safety Major Wright are obviously having fun being reunited with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. How much fun? This is a video Murphy took of Wright doing the whip dance at the team’s training facility.

4 » Not all former Gators are disappointing the Patriots. Though 2014 first-round pick Dominique Easley did not see much action last season while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered the year prior, the organization is pleased with his work ethic and believes he will be able to contribute to the team in 2015. The defensive tackle recently sat down for an interview with CBS 4 WBZ in Boston and touched on a number of topics including football and charity work.
