The Florida Gators on Wednesday added some much-needed experience at a shallow position when junior college offensive lineman Branton Autry committed to the team for the 2016 season.
Autry (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) plays offensive tackle for Coffeyville Community College and was named first-team all-conference last season. He chose Florida over offers from Arkansas, Arizona State, Baylor, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Louisville and South Carolina, among others.
Gators offensive line coach Mike Summers offered Autry a scholarship in March and has been hopping to add him as a verbal commitment ever since.
The former two-star prospect from Mobile, Alabama, can play tackle or guard and will enroll in school early next January.
Andrew Spivey of Gator Country first reported Autry’s commitment.
