Participating in his charity golf tournament Friday, Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer told The Gainesville Sun that he was feeling much better and is ready to rejoin the team when spring football practice begins on March 17.

“I feel good, real good,” Meyer said. “I’ll be there.”

Meyer’s Scramble for Kids golf tournament at the University of Florida’s Mark Bostick Golf Course benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County, Children’s Home Society of Florida and the Girls Club of Alachua County. Former Gators head coaches Steve Spurrier and Ron Zook, along with Meyer, have raised more than $1 million through this two-day event since its inception in 1991.

Hope Coach finds time to get out of town for at least a couple of weeks before spring ball and for sometime this summer as well. Getting completely away is the best way to recharge and reaccess and come back clear minded and better than ever.

He clearly needs some PTO but I think a huge factor is just gaining a confidence from the docs that he isn’t/wasn’t in a life threatning situation….peace of mind for him and his family.
