Tim Tebow shines in T-Mobile Super Bowl ad

Former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow may be out of work on the gridiron, but he has been keeping busy with his new job as an analyst for ESPN and the upcoming SEC Network. Due in part to that relationship, he made a special appearance on sister network ABC on Friday as a special guest co-host for Good Morning America.

While on the show, Tebow debuted a 60-second advertisement set to run during Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday. It pokes good-natured fun at Tebow’s current contract situation (or lack thereof) as part of T-Mobile’s “No Contract” campaign.

Tebow is depicted taking advantage of all the things he can do now that he is not under a contract, such as delivering a baby, rescuing puppies from a burning building, headlining a rock-and-roll tour and more. Check out the extremely well-done spot below:

There are also two 30-second versions. According to Ad Age, the commercials will run in the second, third and fourth quarters of the game. Check them out:

    Well done, T-Mobile.

This should do it…As image conscious as NFL owners are about Tim, this should sway them on if he has the “X-Factor”. Well done Tim, well done!

I hope he got paid a “Bazillion dollars” for these ads. How sweet that the NFL has made a concerted effort to keep him off the field (and yes, john elway – he would have been more popular than you had he stayed in Denver – largely because he is not an arrogant jerk like you) and now he is making $$ off their ultimate dog & pony show…

A concerted effort? C’mon man, Produce any credible information that supports that claim. Tebow isn’t on a roster because he is a wildly inconsistent passer, hasn’t shown any progress in reading defenses, forgets the play call in the huddle, and is outspoken to the point that a horde of media follows him around.

I loved Tim’s time at UF as much as anybody. But his streak at Denver was just that, a streak. It is beyond me why Gator Nation can’t understand that Tim isn’t in the league for specific verifiable reasons. The “leadership” angle is way overblown. Yes you need a guy to shut people up in the huddle but largely these are professional athletes who equate performance to leadership, an area, a huge one, that Tebow comes up short in. He’s done.

Please expound on the conspiracy to keep him out of the league.

Daniel- Look into the ESPN special I believe headed by Trent Dilfer and what a couple of QB gurus have done with his throwing motion and decision making. Whether it’s a conspiracy or not, the problem is there were plenty of backups that saw the field this season due to starter injuries that are not even close to Tim’s ability. The X-factor on Tim is this- He is a WINNER! His competitive drive alone makes him better than a third of NFL starters. Call it a conspiracy or just an unwillingness to do the in-depth research into his progress, but Tim is not getting a fair shake. And I still say much of it is due to him being an unapologetic follower of Jesus Christ. Just my opinion…
