The 2015 recruiting cycle may be moving at a snail’s pace for the Florida Gators, but the program added a 2016 prospect on Monday as wide receiver Rick Wells (Jacksonville, FL) announced his intent to sign with the Gators in one year’s time.

Wells (6-foot-2, 187 pounds) was just offered a scholarship Monday afternoon by Florida running backs coach Tim Skipper, according to Gator Country‘s Andrew Spivey, and obviously did not waste time in making his decision.

“Just Committed to University of Florida #ChompChomp” he wrote on Twitter.

Currently an unranked prospect, Wells attended the Gators’ Friday Night Lights camp in July prior to his junior season and impressed those in attendance.

He hauled in 29 receptions for 749 yards and six touchdowns over 12 games for Raines High School in 2014.

Well is Florida’s third 2016 commitment, joining four-star athlete Tyler Byrd (Naples, FL) and three-star defensive back Tre Jackson (Baton Rouge, LA).
