D1 Sports Training and Therapy will officially announce Wednesday that Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and a trio of other athletes are now co-owners of the company’s newest facility, which opened on Jan. 2 in the Tampa, FL area.

Located on Gunn Highway in Citrus Park, FL, the training space spans more than 18,000 square feet and features a number of amenities including a turf field, first-class weight room and an in-house sports therapy and medicine facility.

Tebow, who is also the co-owner of D1’s Savannah, GA facility and will host a members-only D1 Experience event at the new facility a to-be-determined date, is joined in this venture by former Tampa Bay linebacker Derrick Brooks, current Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones and current WWE professional wrestler Chris Jericho.

“It’s so exciting to be a part of D1 in Tampa,” Tebow said. “When I graduated from Florida I had to find the perfect place to train to get ready for the [NFL] Combine. I traveled all over the country in search of a facility that would fit my needs. Of all the places that I visited around the country, I found that D1 had everything I needed and it ended up being the right place for me.”

Tebow’s training regime at the D1 facility in Nashville, TN was well-publicized. Footage of his workouts, which included extensive work on speeding up his throwing motion, were featured on the documentary Everything in Between (airing on ESPN with a full-length version available on DVD).

“I love the training philosophy as well as the mentality the staff brings to work every day,” he said of deciding to go into business with D1. “They are so passionate about training, getting people in shape and improving their mind along with their focus on life. I was honored when I had the opportunity to become a part of the D1 family.”

New facility looks nice as I drive by it all the time. Maybe I can sync up with Tebow over there soon!
